I just came across this article. Another wicked conversion I was unaware off.

condensor,aircopump, alternator and thermostat
Yes, a small update again. Not much happened lately due to a small holiday break and other priorities. In any case this weekend I returned the condensor, see blog:
http://erwinxjs.blogspot.nl/2018/05/front-dismantling-part-ii.html
I didn't want to take the risk with bending, so I returned it under warranty. Hopefully they will ship a correct one back (I hope it's a one off and not a complete batch). All in all a lot of hassle to get this arranged but nevertheless good service from the selling company.
I also had another look at the airco pump and I will write an email to a company for further details regarding diagnostics/refurbishing/replacement : http://www.deautoaircospecialist.nl/ They offer refurbished replacements as well (apparently via a small Danish company).

http://www.deautoaircospecialist.nl/onderdelen/compressor/revisie/
I had already made contact with another company that can offer a replacement for a Harrison A6. They came up with a good price of € 286,- incl. VAT. It's a refurbished one though. They informed me it does come with a test report and 2 year warranty. They get them via www.elstock.dk/da/shop/ (yes, a Danish company!) And for € 150,- they will even install it and refilling. That's a very good deal.
I'm also taking with me the Alternator (Dynamo) to bring it to a refurbishment shop: http://www.startersendynamos.nl/ I will call them tomorrow to find out the possibilities. If all goes well I might deliver it on my way back home since it's mostly en route.
And today I also made a small effort to get the thermostat removed as I will get that renewed as well since all is now open and easy accessible.

Front dismantling - Part III
So, today the last part as I managed to get all parts off.
Starting with the fan, turns out it simply had to be unscrewed from the poulie. Looks to be in a good shape. Requires cleaning only. I believe I read somewhere that these fans appears to be troublesome. Need to have this double checked.
So now it looks like this:
Next removing the airco compressor:
And now it looks like this:
Removing the spanner/tensioner to free up the waterpump
And now it looks like this:
And removed another tensioner:
Decided to remove the alternator as well:
Looks like an Original Lucas alternator but without any further markings regarding model/type:
Bought some new tools. Some other tools were worn out and I didn't want to take the risk for molesting screws which is a nightmare. The soft hammer was needed to gently hit the waterpump.
Removing one front mounting of the waterpump. First I had the sensor unscrewed and then the other screws and softly hit it with the rubber hammer to get it off.
This now reveals another screw underneath which is now accessible to be unscrewed.
And this is what is looks like with the detached waterpump
I'm still very much in doubt regarding the oil cooler. On some Jaguar Expert blog they claim the oil cooler is not necessary. So they created a bypass hose for it. I'm of the opinion it is necessary, especially when making long distance at high speed. Or else in clogged traffic. So I'm definately keeping it. The radiator looks in good shape. But I'm not sure about the hoses, they are a bit hardened and look normal though.
So by now I managed to get everything out. Next step will be a lot of cleaning. Not sure on how clean I want to make it.
High level plan:
1) I decided to get the airco compressor refurbished instead of buying a new one.
2) I also want the alternator to be refurbished.
3) The waterpump, either a complete new kit or get it refurbished.
4) Reuse the radiator but buy a complete new hose kit
5) oil cooler and hoses. Still in doubt.
6) New Condensor and dryer, already bought.
7) All new belts
8) New spark plugs since the airco pump is removed they are easy accessible.
9) Thermostat and sensors
10) Other bits and pieces, gaskets, etc.
Watch this space.

Front dismantling Part II
And now the follow up of part I: http://erwinxjs.blogspot.nl/2018/04/front-dismantling.html
Earlier this week I had already done some checking regarding the needed parts. So far I usually ordered my parts via SNG Barratt. But upon checking some parts I noticed a huge price difference for the dryer and condensor. Their price for the dryer is € 49,- and for the condensor € 189,- But at Winparts.nl I found them respectively for € 15,- and € 108,-. Including shipping it costed only € 130,-
Today I checked if the received parts were ok. Apparently the condensor is made in China.
And the measurement was good as it fitted ok. Except one pipe going to the tube was bend in the wrong direction. Grrr. Hopefully I can bend it gently without damaging it. It's very fragile.
In any case, I now could continue with freeing up the radiator. So unscrewing al mounting clips on the hoses.
Removing the connecters from the sensor
Removing the connector from the fan
Tilting the car to reach the screw of the bottom hose
Still no joy to reach it, so I had to remove the bottom spoiler
And now with the bottom plastic cover removed
And now it became apparent one cover plate was suffering rust. And by the looks of it, judging on the yellow slugde, the car has been treated against rust. The radiator bar/holder was ok and without rust. It's only this silly plate.
And now I can finally reach the screw of the hose. However it didn't came off as the clamp was broken. So in the end I had to cut it open with a fine saw. Besides I was already planning to have all hoses replaced, so no harm done.
And the radiator came out quite nicely and looks to be in fairly good condition. I don't consider it to be replaced with a new one at least.
Cut off hose
Current situation:
Getting the fan housing out was a bit of fiddling due to the mouting brackets but also I haven't figured out yet how to take of the yellow fan. But the housing came off though. Clearly this can use a nice respray.
And the slightly rotten cover plate. Not sure if and where they can be ordered.
Now everything is open also the extra reservoir can be taken off for a respray
Looks like there is another claxon/horn mounted using the same bolt. At least it looks like a horn. But earlier I had already removed another horn pair?
And now removed. As said, this can use a respray as well
And this is how it looks now. Fairly good condition. Except the bottom part needs to be repainted to avoid potential rust (not clearly visual on the photo).
Still I'm not sure how to remove the fan. So I started to remove the waterpiping and hoses.
Et voila. Another item that needs cleaning and respraying.
And that was it for today. Hopefully tomorrow I figure out how remove the fan. Take off the belts, airco compressor, waterpomp and check some other bits and pieces.
