I couldn't help myself. I bought this Jaguar flag. It's not a large one but fit for my purpose. I have been searching around for a proper car cover and am surprised there aren't tailor made production covers available for the XJS. I even have an official one for my barchetta and 8.32
So I'm now planning to buy a generic green one, same as used for my 400. And I want the Jaguar flag stitched on to it. Watch this space.

Motorsport Magazine - October 1975 : Jaguar XJ-S New Breed Cat
I stumbled upon this magazine archive and of course it does have some nice articles about the XJS. However the first reviews on the new XJS were not exactly positive.
Below the article you will find other related articles to the XJS, so there are a few more:

The cat’s meow – a Jaguar XJ-S V12
It has been a while. Just back from holiday leave. So here is a good read. I too consider them still fairly affordable:

Gas / Fuel indicator - sender unit - brass floater
You might recall I still had this issue with the fuel indicator. See also this first blog update:
http://erwinxjs.blogspot.nl/2016/09/eureka-fuel-gauge-repair.html
Since the replacement it has been acting strange, ie not moving up, temporarely working and since last time completely stuck at full state.
Today I had a little time left to have it checked again. Luckily the gas tank was just empty enough to get the sender unit out without spilling gas. I'm not sure if the arm or floater was stuck somehow. In any case it came out easily. Again I checked the functionality of the unit and lifted the arm up and down and the fuel indicator moved along accordingly. The weight of the floater has no influence either, which I thought could be the problem here. But the arm itself is heavy enough to go down. In any case I had bought this brass floater a little while ago as I thought it could help here but also to prevent a failing floater in the future. So nice timing to get this replaced. All put back in and first indication looks normal. But the wheather was bad, so I didn't drive outside to fill it up a little and check functionality. I will do that next time, so watch this space.

Colour & Trim Guide
This particular brochure hit my attention and as such I wanted to have it.
I found one for a very decent price on Ebay. It turned out it was offered by the same person from whom I obtained the car brochure, see blog:
http://erwinxjs.blogspot.nl/2016/09/jaguar-xj-s-he-brochure-price-list.html
He was open for offers and as such I obtained it for € 2,- only. The shipping costs was twice as much, still a very good deal in my opinion. I'm very happy with this nice addition. The leaflet has reference nr CC/X/003 I suspect this one is time period correct for 1983/84.
According to this guide it looks like the paint name for my car is "Antelope" with "Doeskin" leather interior.
Thought it's a nice item to have included with the car and to look up my colour scheme.
