By surprise I hit this facebook post by the Dutch Automeisje (cargirl) and noticed the XJS being converted into an electric car:

Probably from 1984 when there were three models to choose from in the UK. The inline-six AJ6 3.6 litre engine was introduced in the XJ-S in advance of the new 1986 XJ6 saloon (XJ40). The XJ-S V12 continued alongside.
